These are items that are more decorative. Yet, boxes are meant for you to put things inside of them.

Fiori Box
Fiori Box. Made of birch.
The pattern is inspired by the Santa Maria dei Fiori Cathedral in Florence, Italy.
The lid has six sections which are carved to recess them. They are pierced.
Sections are painted with a mix of burnt sienna and raw umber acrylic paint.
The lid and base have beads at the join; beads painted dark green .
The finish water-based polyurethane, applied with an airbrush.
Ova - Egg Keepsake Box
Ova. This is a keepsake box in the form of an egg. The wood is birch.
The stand and the ring on the bottom of the egg are of santo mahogany.
Finish: on egg exterior – shellac polished to a semi-gloss
On interior and flange of the box – beeswax
The stand is finished with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal
Cherry-Black Walnut Vessel
Cherry vessel with a black walnut rim and a black walnut insert at the opening.
The lid is made of black walnut; the finial is santo mahogany.
The finish is General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Satin, which is buffed.
This vessel serves well as a keepsake box.

Madrone Window

Elm-Jatoba Flame Vessel
Woods: elm (base), jatoba (collar and lid), birds eye maple (finial)

Cherry Lotus Vessel. Vessel (cherry, sapele); Lotus flower (sapele, coffeetree)
Cherry Lotus Vessel – Lid off to reveal the hollow form
Same as the Lotus Flower vessel, but with a feather top. The feather is maple, carved and painted to look like the real thing.
Ash Brass Flame
Materials: ash (base), jatoba (collar and lid), brass (flame)
Finish: Arm-R-Seal (satin)
Small Cherry Box Woods: cherry (base), sapele (lid), walnut (finial)
Cherry End-Grain Boxes
Cherry end-grain boxes, all approximately 3.5 inches wide and 2.5-3.5 inches high. The celtic knot in the one, is an inlay formed by marquetry. The finish on all is a beeswax friction finish, applied with pieces spinning on the lathe.
Cherry Keepsake Box
Smaller Cherry Keepsake Box. This is an end-grain box with light suction fit of the lid. Decorative grooves and stippling give added embellishment and grip for the lid. Finish inside and outside is a beeswax friction finish.
